This idea of getting your self-awareness is the key to the best of what you can do in the next 5 minutes. If you want to change your own mindset, start with a good book and a good journal, as the next book on your library shelf will probably be the best to have.
Don’t underestimate the power of a good journal. A good book will remind you of things that you’ve forgotten about yourself. If you don’t have one, you can always ask your partner or your friends to borrow one from them. You can also read the books you want to read on your own. You don’t have to remember everything that’s in it.
Most people dont write a whole lot of notes in books. There are many books on the library shelf, and some of them arent even that good. If you want to do something productive, find a good book and start reading it. Or just get a good journal.
We all forget things. We forget to brush our teeth, forget to brush our hair, forget to eat. We forget to pay our credit card bills, forget to use our cell phones, forget to buy things we forgot we wanted to buy. We forget to go on dates, forget to call each other, forget to get married. The first thing that needs to be done to start fresh is to remember that you exist.
So, when we start a new job, we start with the most important thing we need to be doing. We might have to eat a new meal we didn’t eat before. We might have to stop eating the same foods we used to. We might have to stop using the same bathroom. We might have to take a different route. But we may not have to remember to ask our boss if we can work from home.
We all need to remember that we exist.
It’s not as easy as just “remember that you exist.” But that’s the first step. And it’s not like you have any control over this. Our bodies have the capacity to forget what we did on a daily basis. We just have to make sure our bodies are aware and on guard when we remember.
For example, if you wake up in the morning, make a list of all the things that you did last night. It’s hard to overthink that, but you might be able to at least put a smile on your face by reminding yourself why you needed to get up and why you are already doing all these things.
The second step is to remind yourself of each action. The second step is to remind yourself why you are doing all these things. For example, if you have been up all night playing video games and you are now hungry, you can remind yourself of why you had to get up and get food. Once you have that down, you have to make sure you don’t forget where you are and where you’ve been the last 8 hours.
Your body requires nutrients to stay alive. You need to eat and drink. But if you eat and drink and then forget where you are, youll start to feel hungry and thirsty. This is why we practice a very healthy thing called mindfulness meditation. Mindfulness meditation helps us to remember that we are here, on this planet, and that we are alive.
